Elendili
   'Elf-friends', name given to those Númenóreans who were not estranged from the Eldar in the days of Tar-Ancalimon and later kings; also called the Faithful.

   A name, meaning 'Elf-friends', taken by that party of the Númenóreans who opposed the policies of the King's Men, and wished Númenor to keep the friendship of the Eldar.
